A hopeful start
Markus and I were the unlucky ones who stayed in the same hotel room as Charlie who tested positive for Covid-19, so following the guidelines set by Kagoshima Kosen we were due for quarantine for this day. We started the day by taking some antigen tests and which we both tested negative for which got our hopes up for the coming days. Then we got some breakfast while staying away from the other group for safety reasons. Today was the first day that the rest of the group would get to go to Kagoshima Kosen in person. We went back to our room and resumed our previous activities of working on programming side projects and this here blog that you are on! Later on, we heard that we were also invited to watch the presentation that was held for the other group but via zoom. After that it was lunch break so we went out on a walk to a nearby steak restaurant which was delicious.

Lunch

An Afternoon online
After lunch, we were back in our hotel room and connected via zoom to do our PBL or Project Based Learning where we continue working on a Chat app with Japanese students. When that period had ended we had a meeting with Kagoshima NIT Kosen students to discuss the differences between our countries and cultures which was very interesting. Markus and I also got the very exciting news that if we got officially tested at Kagoshima Kosen's Nurse's office the next morning then we would be cleared from quarantine and could attend the activities. After that positive news, we decided to treat ourselves to dinner and ended up at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant which was a great way to end the day.
